So, I’m back…

Or, rather, my computer is.

It became very sick and I had to take it to computer hospital. The diagonsis – batteryomegaly, an age-related malady, which required an organ transplant. Of course, there was no battery match in Townsville and we had to have one sent up from Brisbane. This took some time and I hovered around the operation room nervously asking repeatedly if they had found one yet. Finally one day at work I got the call I had been waiting for. The new battery had arrived, been successfully transplanted and my baby is now as good as new.

LOL!

It was interesting to be without my computer for such an extended period. At first, I missed it but with time on my hands I threw my energy into my garden. I put in raised vegie beds moving 3 cubic metres of soil in the process and planted numerous seedlings. Heavens knows what I’ll do with all that produce, presuming that I succeed in raising any. I have no idea what I’m doing really. Lol! I dug a 2 metre fish pond and built two flat-pack bridges to decorate the backyard with. All of this nearly killed me. Now, I sit on my back veranda listening to the ocean reassuring me that I’m where I need to be, at least for the present. The weather is starting to cool and this part of the world becomes heaven, so if any of you want to visit me in my little fisherman’s cottage you should make the trek sometime between now and October. I have a spare bedroom or plenty of space for your caravan, with a separate toilet and shower in the shed.

Of course, the down side to all this frenetic outdoor activity is that I’ve done no writing, no painting, no poetry. But, that’s okay. All that physicality helped take my mind off the stress in other areas. I feel terrific and ready for whatever turns up and, most importantly, ready to look again at RIP and Jenny’s Story. I am going to have to be more disciplined…and that, as you know, is a hard ask for me. Deep breath! I will be ready to submit soon.

And that is the story of where I’ve been and where I’m going. I’d love you to join me on the journey. Just pop in to see me occasionally. See you soon.  Rosa.

  1. Yay! It sounds like a good time, actually. Hopefully things will get better from here.
